Nestlé Waters North America

The undisputed leader in the North American bottled water industry

Headquartered in Greenwich, Connecticut, Nestlé Waters North America was formed in 1976 with just one brand, Perrier Sparkling Mineral Water. Today the company sells many of Europe's and North America's preeminent bottled water brands.

Since 1992, Nestlé Waters North America has been a subsidiary of Paris-based Nestlé Waters (formerly Perrier Vittel S.A.), a part of the Nestlé Group. As the world's largest bottled water company, Nestlé Waters serves 77 well-known bottled water brands in 130 countries world-wide.

Nestlé Waters is, in turn, a division of Nestlé S.A., the largest food company in the world. Sales of total Nestlé S.A. increased one percent over the previous year to CHF 88 billion. Nestlé, founded in 1866 by Henri Nestlé, has more than 500 factories and 230,000 employees worldwide, producing such esteemed brands as Nestlé chocolate, Nescafe coffee, Stouffer's frozen foods, Contadina pastas, and Nestea iced tea products. Nestlé headquarters is located in Vevey, Switzerland.

As part of Nestlé, Nestlé Waters North America has the corporate resources to source, bottle, and transport the world's finest natural spring water with exceptional knowledge and expertise. The strong and solid backing of Nestlé will enable Nestlé Waters North America to hold its position as a leader in the U.S. bottled water industry well into the future.

Total Nestlé Waters North America Inc. Net Revenue - Summary 1997-2003 (net sales in $ millions)

From 1998 to 2003, Nestlé Waters North America has seen its revenue increase from $1.2 billion to $2.6 billion, sustaining a volume share (all channels) of nearly 26.0 %. Six of the industry's top 10 brands are PGA brands.

Introduction"Nestlé Waters North America, has always been a dynamic organization, flexible and adaptive to change. Our long-term position as America's foremost bottled water company requires that we continue to change. Why? Because the industry is changing. Competition is intensifying, driving an increase in the cost of doing business. Our economy is pulsating with the immediate gratification enabled by technology, and consumers' and customers' expectations are increasing as a result. We must change more quickly than this external environment or put our business at risk.
To deal successfully with the challenges of the future, our company's "culture" must also evolve. The foundation of our culture is the Aspiration and Beliefs that were introduced in 1997.
Going forward in business, and in life, requires a certain amount of self-awareness and analysis. We applied that to our company, which led us to define and reinforce our roles as community members and stewards of the environment. Because these roles are so critical to who we are and what we do, we have incorporated them into our Aspirations and Beliefs. The following outlines the evolution of our Aspirations and Beliefs and further refines the intentions and ideas they embody.
