
内容提要: Course Description This course is designed to provide an advanced anlysis of industrial relations and human resource management. Issues related to various sub-disciplines, such as labor economics and industrial/organizational psychology, will also be discussed. Major topics included are external environment of human resource management, human resource system, labor market, staffing, training, development, organization theory and organizational behavior, compensation and benefits, and labor relations. Course Objectives You will learn about five areas: 1) The environment of human resource management, 2) Acquisition and preparation of human resources, 3) Assessment and development of human resources, 4) Compensation of human resources, and 5) Special topics in human resources. When you successfully complete this course, you will have developed and/or enhanced your knowledge and skills in these areas. Specifically, you will be able to do the following in each area upon successful completion of the course:
You will also be able to organize, present, and justify a recommendation. You will have enhanced your skills at articulating your views (written and oral) in a logical, eloquent, and persuasive manner appropriate to the audience through the in-class activities, essay portions of the exams, and homework assignments.
