DISH Network is America's fastest growing satellite TV provider, now serving over 10 million customers. We are looking for talented, team oriented individuals who are customer service focused to work as a Human Resources Generalist in the Sacramento, CA area.
Administers human resources management programs in a wide variety of human resources areas, including staffing, compensation, benefits, training and labor relation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Consults with department managers to determine appropriate human resources priorities. Advises management of risks associated with current business practices and recommends improvements to the management of human resources.
Plans and directs teams who will work on staffing, benefits, compensation or compliance programs.
Participates in the review of operational business strategy and objectives to determine the implication on human resources objectives. Meets with operational executives to determine their human resources needs.
Provides expertise to management in local, state and federal employment laws.
Conducts training of human resources objectives to management including regulatory compliance training, policy and procedures training and corporate communication initiatives.
Maintains communication with departments on all human resources related issues. Reports recommendations and alternatives to human resources strategy to higher level managers.
Works independently on objectives that vary greatly across many human resources disciplines. Receives very little supervision and is able to schedule priorities independently according to business needs.
Ensures that human resources needs are met in a timely manner at all times. Is responsible for providing the highest level of customer service and accessibility to the managers and employees of EchoStar.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Directs the activities of lower level human resources staff. Trains and develops lower level staff in human resources.
QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university, or two years related experience; and three years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Solid knowledge of local, state and federal laws governing recruiting and employment issues.
SKILLS
Strong interviewing skills. Must have solid knowledge of recruitment and selection techniques and requirements of the federal Selection Guidelines and the Americans with Disabilities Acts. Ability to effectively respond to and interact with all levels of organizational staff. Competencies include excellent presentation/facilitation, organizational, analytical, interpersonal and written/oral communication skills. Requires high level computer expertise, including use of database, word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation applications. Flexible, innovative and the ability to manage staff, responsibilities and priorities in a fast paced, growth-oriented and time-critical environment.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical and nontechnical instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
