- TheHouse of Representatives has passed a Joint Funding Resolution forFY2007 that would provide for a 2% increase for the National Institutesof Health and level funding for the National Cancer Institute (which iseffectively an increase of $46 million since the NCI no longer has tocontribute to the Common Fund).
- The Senate is now debating and considering the Joint Funding Resolution.
- SomeSenators are expected to try to propose amendments to the Joint FundingResolution that would cut all non-defense spending across the board, including the NIH.
