The admission committee will use the GRE/TOEFL scores and also look

closely at the statement of interest and letters of recommendation.

They will want to know that your interests match the strengths of the

school.  

We also will look closely at individual classes in the GPA transcript to

see if the applicant is already capable in the building sciences

(structures, environmental controls, energy. lighting, daylighting,

sustainability, etc.).  If the GPA is low in areas outside of building

science, but the building science work is strong, then that can be

considered.

The letters of recommendation are also very important to us.  

Finally, we also compare the relative quality of the undergraduate

school.  We have a lot of knowledge about the strengths of schools in

most countries, and so we can select students who attended the very best

undergraduate schools.
